"Cosas que hacen que la vida valga la pena" is a romantic comedy dealing ironically and humorously with the second time around in love. Hortensia (Ana Belén) is a divorced clerk in the Unemployment Office, bored with life through not having had any relationships since her husband left her for a younger woman. Jorge (Eduardo Fernández, winner of the Goya Acting Prize in 2002 as the lead in "Fausto 5.0" and again in 2003 as best supporting actor for "En la ciudad") is an ordinary bloke, a separated optimist out to change Hortensia“s life. Convinced that fate has decided to give him a second chance, he sees her as the key to happiness. Personal relations and complications between Jorge, Hortensia, her best friend, her ex husband, Jorge”s ex“s new Chinese boyfriend, Jorge”s father and Hortensia“s son provide a hint of acid humour in all this tangle.
