Paris, springtime 1996. A taxi takes DIANA BALAGUER (Ana Belen), the sweetheart of the gossip press, to the Hotel Crillon where the Kings of Spain are giving a small intimate party to celebrate their 34th wedding anniversary. At the reception, DIANA runs into SANTIAGO (Juanjo Puigcorbé) and practically passes out and is just saved from collapsing through the athletic reflexes of the King.

After the incident, SANTIAGO, who is in the king’s bodyguard, and DIANA argue. The argument leads into memories of the last embarrassing 30 years between them. The first thing that comes to mind is from July of 1965 when the Beatles visited Spain and SANTI ( Gabino Diego) was a bellboy in the hotel where they stayed and DIANA (Penelope Cruz) was a young hysterical fan who was crazy about John Lennon.
