JAVIER (Javier Bardem) is a successful screenwriter who lives caught up in an erotic telephone relationship with a mystery woman who has him trapped by her morbid conversations. In a group therapy session for sex addicts he meets MIRANDA (Victoria Abril), a radio commentator, who takes advantage of her free mornings to have sexual experiences with all types of men.

After the session JAVIER accompany her to the radio station where she is working.Walter, the sound technician and friend of Miranda’s, hears Javier’s voice and recognizes it immediately. Javier discovers the shocking fact that his erotic phone conversations have been recorded and are circulating around Madrid.
