Cesar Benítez at the end of the 80’s founds BocaBoca Productions and begins to produce comedy genre films. With the help of directors and scriptwriters like Manuel Gómez Pereira and Joaquin Oristrell gets to renew the comedy genre. Later, BocaBoca expands its production spectrum to other genres (horror and action) with movies like “Todos los hombres sois iguales” or “Planta 4ª”. These are also well received by the public. In the middle of the 90“s, the company strongly enters into the TV content production. The high quality and the good turnover of the products are wonderfully received by the industry, reason why other companies want to participate as stakeholders in the company. Vocento, through Veralia – holding corporation of the Vocento group for the content creation and distribution- is the selected partner to look to the future. In July 2007, Veralia expands its participation in Bocaboca from the 70% up to the 100% keeping as main gold to continue offering innovative television projects to the national market. These projects are oriented to different audiences, based on high quality standards, total independency when selecting the contents and full of new talents in their cast. The leader of this new period is Macarena Rey, general director of the company. She acquires the responsibility to continue with the good “way of doing” of the company. Her team gets strengthened by a group of high quality professionals who have extensive experience in TV and movie production: Carmen Utrilla as Casting department responsible (this department acts as an autonomous business unit which supports also other companies in the national industry); Antonio Trashorras as responsible of the Fiction Area; Menchu González as Entertainment responsible; David Fernández Miralles as Documentary responsible; Tino Pont as Production Area Responsible; and Joaquín Rodríguez as Finance Controller.
