Vallterra’s plot counts on three basic ingredients: an old family, the Roviras, controlled by one of the largest landowners and impresarios of the Balearic Islands, Bartomeu Rovira (Simon Andreu); a woman that seeks justice, Dolors (Antonia Planells); and a large inheritance, which includes the rights to the Vallterra estate. Let the drama begin. Vallterra explores the personal conflicts between the different members of this long established, high-society family, the Roviras, and all those that surround them and that work for them on the estate. The most important conflicts at Vallterra arise from a peculiar inheritance law (known as the law of l“hereu) that is still on the books in the Balearic Islands.The law establishes that when a man dies, only one of his sons can inherit the entire estate.
